I plan to outline the different alternative therapies we have added to Emily’s regime and how we think she responded. Right now I will just list what we have already had experience with.
1. Anat Baniel Method movement lessons (ABM)
2. Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration Therapy (MNRI)
The Masgutova Method® is a set of programs focused on the restoration and maturation of primary movements, reflexes, coordination systems, skills for optimal performance of natural mechanisms, developmental processes, brain functioning, and sensory-motor integration. The Masgutova Method® is oriented on the stimulation of reflex patterns in order to awaken natural, genetic motor resources, self-regenerating strength of motor memory and sensory-motor coherence. This achievement innately carries the implication of the fulfillment of all potentials within movement abilities and learning skills.
The Mission of the Svetlana Masgutova Educational Institute® Neuro-sensory-motor Reflex Integration, LLC is to provide children and adults reliable knowledge and safe tools for the use of natural, genetic motor resources to facilitate successful neuro-sensory-motor development and joyful learning.
3. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
4. Micronutrient supplementation (The Preemie Growth Project)
5. Cuevas Medek Exercise (CME)
Cuevas Medek Exercises (CME) Physical Therapy was created by Ramon Cuevas, Physical Therapist, in 1972. The first name of this physical therapy approach was MEDEM, Spanish acronim for Dynamic Method of Motor stimulation.
In 1980 Ramon Cuevas changed the name of the therapy to MEDEK, Spanish acronym for Dynamic Method of Kinetic Stimulation.
Nineteen years later in 1999, Ramon Cuevas decide to include his name into the name of the therapy, and the nomination CME Cuevas Medek Exercises therapy came to light.
Cuevas Medek Exercises (CME) Physical Therapy is a totally avant-garde approach inspired to provoke automatic motor responses in motor delayed children from ages of 3 months ahead.
What is Cuevas Medek Exercises® (CME®) ?
It is a pediatric physiotherapy approach based on dynamic challenging exercises manually applied for children affected on their developmental motor functions. This approach provides very concrete guidelines to stimulate babies in a total safe way, starting from two months of age to many years after birth.
